How it Happened
Rhode Island (15-19, 7-4) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Martin Figueroa doubled down the left field line and then scored on a two-out single by Ryan Olmo.

Dave Vaccaro led off the top of the second with a base hit for St. Bonaventure (17-15-1, 4-7), but that was all the offense the Bonnies would get until the top of the seventh, as Steve Moyers retired the next 16 in a row. SBU's Tyler Walter managed a one-out base hit in the seventh, advanced to second on a passed ball and later scored on a wild pitch to tie things up at one apiece.

The deadlock was short-lived however as Rhody pulled back ahead with a two two-run eighth. Figueroa drove in the go-ahead run on a single that plated Mike Foley and Olmo followed with an RBI groundout that pushed across Chris Hess for the 3-1 advantage.

Moyers came back out for the ninth and got back-to-back ground ball outs before sealing the victory with his eighth strikeout of the game.
