Rhode Island's top three boats swept MIT and Holy Cross Sunday morning on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Racing on flat water, Rhode Island's Varsity 8+ team of Alissa Margraf (cox), Lily Herberger, Dana Holland, Emmy Corace, Alicia Kelley, Marisa Landry, Kiana Anderson, Katie Shattuck and Leah McGlynn put open water between itself and the other two schools, winning in a time of 6:29.50. Rhody finished eight seconds ahead of MIT. Ranked No. 6 in Region I, Rhode Island's V8+ boat has won its last four races.

When the Second Varsity 8+ started, teams were working with a tailwind that continued for the Varsity 4+ race as well. The change did not affect the Rams, as the 2V8+ team of Carly Amurao (cox), Courtney Harrington, Emily Engott, Shannon McIsaac, Laura Kilbane, Sydney Beck, Mekenzie Mattheson, Meghan Ellis and Kelsey Maymon won with relative ease, beating second-place MIT by exactly 16 seconds.

Rhode Island's V4+ and 2V4+ boats took the top two spots in the Varsity 4 race. Avery Cohen (cox), Danielle Wolf, Sage Iacovazzi, Allie Reilly and Erika Pena finished in 7:40.0, while the team of Lucy Moyes (cox), Lauren Smith, Chandler Fisher, Amber Abderrazzaq and Delaney Haggerty posted a time of 7:52.23. The boats for MIT and Holy Cross was both at least six seconds behind the Rhode Island boats.

The Rams will now rest and recover for the next two weeks before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championship on Sunday, May 8. The league regatta will be held on the Occoquan Reservoir at Sandy Run Regional Park in Fairfax Station, Va.
