How it Happened
George Mason scored three goals in a four-minute span late in the second half, erasing a 2-0 Rhode Island lead and leaving the URI Soccer Complex with a 3-2 victory Sunday afternoon.

URI senior Taylor Ross had put the Rams up by a pair, scoring once in each half. Ross first struck in the 19th minute when she headed in a long cross from Jennifer Mencos, and doubled the Rhody lead in the 78th minute when she roofed in a rebound after consecutive saves on back-to-back shots by Brooke Osmanski.

The Patriots's furious comeback began in the 84th minute, when Emily Littell converted a penalty kick to make it a 2-1 game. Amanda Nhek then scored at the 85:51 mark when she buried a loose ball in the box to even the score at two apiece. Erin Mitchell sealed the win in the 88th minute, heading in a service from Kelsey Young.
