How it Happened
Rhode Island (14-11) got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by Mike Corin. The Rams stretched it to 2-0 the following inning when Chris Hess singled through the left side to score Mike Foley, who had doubled to lead off the inning before advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt by Kevin Heiss.

Bryant (7-17) pulled ahead in the bottom of the fifth however, thanks to a pair of long balls. Gaby Cruz struck first, sending a leadoff shot out to left field. Nick Angelini later crushed a two-run homer with two away, giving the Bulldogs the 3-2 advantage.

The Rams managed just two hits the rest of the way - one in the sixth and one in the seventh - as Bryant held on for the 3-2 victory.

Up Next
Rhode Island returns to action this weekend for a three-game Atlantic 10 series at St. Bonaventure. Due to Friday's poor weather forecasts in the Olean, N.Y. area, the Rams and Bonnies will open the series on Saturday afternoon and wrap things up with a Sunday doubleheader.
