How it Happened
A hat trick by George Mason's Sara Chontosh lifted the Patriots over the Rams Thursday night in a 3-2 battle on the road. 

The Patriots struck first, getting on the board in the 24th minute thanks to a shot by Chontosh to go into the break with the lead. Rhody responded three minutes into the second half with a blast from Tierra Garniss. The first career goal by the freshman was assisted by Rebecca D'Anna. 

Rhody went up 2-1 just four minutes later, with a shot by Cristina Sallent for her first career points. Chontosh struck again to even the score at 2-2 in the 65th minute. While play was back-and-forth for the remainder of the game, Chontosh completed the hat trick in the 73rd minute for the 3-2 victory.
