Set One – George Mason 25, Rhode Island 16
After an early back and forth saw the hosts hold a slight 9-8 lead, George Mason went on an 11-4 run to build an eight-point lead. Olyvia Kennedy had three kills during the spurt and five in the set to help the Patriots take the early 1-0 lead. Rhode Island struggled to find rhythm in the set, committing seven attack errors.

Set Two – George Mason 25, Rhode Island 23
The second set was hotly contested, as neither side led by more than two points at any time. There were 15 ties and seven lead changes. A Mariah Pauletee kill from Grace Hammond put the Rams up 21-20, and the two combined on a block two points later for a 22-21 Rhody lead. However, George Mason scored four of the next five points – two on kills by Peyton Ehmke – to close out the set and take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Set Three – George Mason 28, Rhode Island 26
Rhode Island appeared poised to extend the match when a pair of Gillian Klise kills sandwiched around a Grace Hammond kill put the Rams ahead 23-18. However, the Patriots stormed back with five straight points – three on kills by Brookelynn Sapp – to tie the score. URI had set points at 24-23 and 25-24, but George Mason wouldn't fold. After fighting off both set points, the Patriots ended the match with kills from Peyton Ehmke and Erin Derick.
