How it Happened
Rhode Island dropped a 2-1 battle at Fordham Thursday, falling on a final-minute goal in double overtime.

Fordham was the first to strike, getting on the board in the 11th minute. Milan Bornstein set up a shot for Kristen Cocozza from the corner of the box to find the back of the net. Alyssa Fleming had the equalizer with a shot 25 yards out to the upper left corner that was just out of reach for keeper Maria O'Sullivan. Fleming's first career goal sent the teams into the break tied 1-1.

In the second half of play, Aysha Bentick had two shots on goal, but it wasn't enough as time ran out of regulation, and the teams went into overtime. The offense was limited in the first extra time period for both squads, as neither Rhode Island or Fordham registered a shot. Rhody had two shots in the second overtime by Fleming and Rebecca D'Anna, but a golden goal in the final minute by Cocozza got past Teresa Morrissey for the win.
