How it Happened
An eight-run inning was the difference as Bryant defeated Rhode Island 10-7 Wednesday afternoon.

Bryant (11-9-1) sent 13 batters to the plate in the top of the third. All eight runs in the outburst came with two outs in the inning. The bulldogs had seven hits and two walks in the frame, including a two-run triple from Brian Nicolas. Nicolas later scored on a wild pitch to cap the scoring.

Trailing 9-3, Rhode Island (11-13-1) chipped away with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Billy Butler singled and Tino Salgado worked a walk. Austin White tripled to left field, driving in both runners. Sonny Ulliana's fielder's choice grounder brought White in to trim the deficit to three runs.

Bryant added a run in the fifth inning to push the lead to four runs. The Rams got runners into scoring position in the fifth, seventh and eighth innings, but could not get any more runs across the plate. In the bottom of the ninth, Greg Cavaliere walked and Addison Kopack singled. A wild pitch moved both runners up 90 feet, and a walk to Jordan Laske loaded the bases with one out. Mike Webb - who played third base for an inning - drew a walk to force Cavaliere in. Back-to-back strikeouts ended the threat and the game.
