How it Happened
Connecticut took advantage of a wild day on the mound for Rhode Island, as the visiting Huskies knocked off URI 15-6 in the final home game of the season for the Rams.

UConn (26-16) needed just 10 hits to pile up its 15 runs. The Huskies benefitted from eight walks and four hit batsmen throughout the game.

Connecticut scored two unearned runs in the top of the first inning and carried the 2-0 edge through three innings. After scoring four times in the fourth inning, UConn added five in the fifth and three more in the sixth, steadily increasing its lead.

Both of Rhode Island's runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning. Joe Fortin hit a solo home run to start the inning. Mark Coley singled, moved to second on a Jordan Laske single and advanced to third on a groundout. A balk allowed Coley to cross the plate.

Rhode Island (23-24-1) added a pair of runs in the seventh inning. Max Mircovich walked and Fortin was hit by a pitch. Both eventually scored on a Coley single. In the bottom of the ninth, Billy Butler scored on a wild pitch and Calvin McCall drove in Coley with a single to cap the scoring.
