TOKYO, Japan
- Former Rhode Island women's rowers Allie Reilly and Karen Petrik will compete for Team USA Tokyo Paralympics Friday in the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four.

Reilly and Petrik are teaming with Dani Hansen, Charley Nordin and John Tanguay for Team USA in Heat 1 of the PR3Mix4+ flight. The race is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. local time on the Sea Forest Waterway. Team USA will be in Lane 4, between the Ukraine (Lane 3) and Australia (Lane 5).

The races can be watched online at NBCOlympics.com/paralympic-games.

Coached by URI women's rowing head coach Shelagh Donohoe, the U.S. boat is competing against Israel, Spain, the Ukraine, Australia and Canada in its heat. The winner of the heat advances to Final A on Sunday, while the remaining five teams move on to Saturday's Repechage round.

Team USA's entire boat was together at the 2019 World Rowing Championships in Linz, Australia, where it won a silver medal. The Americans have won six consecutive silver medals in the event at the world level, including at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil. Hansen, a six-time national team member, is the lone returnee from the 2016 Paralympic crew. Reilly and Nordin are two-time world's silver medalists in the event, while Tanguay and Petrick each have won one silver medal during the streak.

Teammates at Rhode Island from 2016-19, Reilly and Petrik helped URI win three Atlantic 10 titles in their four seasons. Reilly was an Atlantic 10 First Team All-Conference selection during her senior season. As a junior, Petrik was the coxswain for URI's Varsity 4+ boat that placed 20th at the NCAA Championship. At the time it was the highest finish in any flight by a Rhode Island boat.
