Set One – Quinnipiac 25, Rhode Island 16
Rhody and Quinnipiac traded points back and forth early on, but with the score tied at 3-3, the Bobcats went on a 13-3 run to open up a 10-point advantage (16-6). Three consecutive points eventually got Rhody within six (21-15), but Quinnipiac claimed four of the next five points to win the opener 25-16.
Set Two – Rhode Island 25, Quinnipiac 23
The second set was close throughout as it featured 10 ties, five lead changes and neither team leading by more than three points. With Rhody trailing 20-18, back-to-back kills by
Jamie Smith and
Tori Britton preceded anÂ
Adel Gage ace that put the Rams ahead 21-20. Quinnipiac grabbed three of the next four points to reclaim the lead at 23-22, but that was the end of the scoring for the Bobcats. A
Grace Hammond kill evened things up before an emphatic block by Hammond and
Mariah Paulette gave URI set point at 24-23.
Brynne Wright then finished things off with her fourth kill of set to even the match at 1-1.

Set Three – Rhode Island 25, Quinnipiac 21
The Rams rode the momentum into the third set, opening on a 4-0 run and maintaining the lead throughout. With Rhody up 15-9, Quinnipiac reeled off four straight points to cut it to two (15-13), and later got within one at 22-21. However a
Claire Wagner ace capped a 3-0 push that sealed the 25-21 victory.

Set Four – Rhode Island 25, Quinnipiac 23
After being down 5-3, Rhody scored five straight points and never trailed again. The Bobcats hung around, and cut the lead to two points on three occasions, forcing Rhode Island to call a time out with the score at 21-19. Quinnipiac came out of the break and scored four of the next six points to even the score at 23-23. A kill by

- Rhode Island's Angel Agu earned the win in her head coaching debut, having taken over the reins of the program less than two months ago.
- Senior Tori Britton led Rhode Island with 12 kills on 20 swings. She also had two assists and a pair of blocks.
- Junior Claire Wagner recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.
- Graduate transfer Jamie Smith had eight kills, three blocks and two digs in her Rhody debut.
- Freshmen Grace Hammond and Hannah Blaney made their collegiate debuts in the win. Hammond finished with 19 assists, nine digs, four kills, three blocks and two service aces. Blaney added a pair of digs.
- Senior Mariah Paulette registered five kills and six blocks, including one solo.
- Senior Ella Ratzloff finished the night with 24 digs, three assists and two service aces.
- Sophomore Brynne Wright had nine kills and a pair of digs.
- Junior Adel Gage had two service aces, 23 assists, seven digs and four kills with no attack errors.

The Rams return to Keaney Gymnasium tomorrow to close out competition at the 13th annual Art Carmichael Invitational. Rhody will face Holy Cross at 11 a.m. and Bryant at 7 p.m.
