Set One – Boston College 25, Rhode Island 14
Boston College never trailed in the set, distancing itself early on and refusing to let Rhody back in. After consecutive kills by
Grace Hammond and
Jamie Smith made the score 11-7 BC, the Eagles used a 9-3 run to double the Rams up at 20-10.
Brynne Wright then hammered four straight kills for the Rams, but Boston College responded with five consecutive points to seal the 25-14 victory.
Set Two – Boston College 25, Rhode Island 16
The Eagles scored the first eight points of the set to establish the advantage early on. A 5-0 Rhody push – which featured a pair of aces from
Jamie Smith – cut the deficit to three (8-5) but that was as close as the Rams would get ad BC slowly began to distance itself once again. A Claire Naughton kill gave the Eagles their largest lead of the set at 20-11 and the teams traded points the rest of the way as Boston College finished on top 25-16.

Set Three – Boston College 25, Rhode Island 21
Rhode Island enjoyed its first lead of the match in the third set, reeling off six straight points for a 7-3 advantage. The Eagles eventually tied it at 8-8 on an Rhody error, and pulled ahead 12-11 on another error by the Rams. Rhode Island kept things close though, refusing to give BC more than a two-point lead until a service ace made it 21-18 Boston College. The Rams later fended off match point at 24-20, but Claire Naughton's match-high 14th kill of the afternoon ended things at 25-21.
Inside the Box Score
- Sophomore Brynne Wright led Rhode Island with seven kills. Senior Gabrielle Shilling and freshman Brittany Myers each had five.
- Shilling also recorded five blocks – including one solo – while Myers added two blocks and four digs.
- Freshman Grace Hammond ended the match with 16 assists, four kills, three digs and one block.
- Senior Ella Ratzloff had a team-high 12 digs.
- Grad student Jamie Smith contributed two service aces, six digs, four kills and one block.
- Junior Adel Gage registered six assists and three digs.

The Rams return to action on Friday when they take on Merrimack in the first of three games at the UNH/Merrimack Tournament. Rhody will also face Morgan State and UNH on Saturday.
