How it Happened
Rhode Island continued its winning ways, opening Atlantic 10 play with a 2-1 double-overtime victory against nationally-ranked VCU Saturday night.

Freshman Isak Oystese continued to prove himself as one of the league's brightest lights, scoring in the 101st minute to give the Rams the golden-goal victory. As he controlled the ball at the top of the box, Oystese shook off a pair of defenders and fired a low shot past VCU's Mario Sequeira to send the Ram faithful home happy.

It was VCU that forced overtime, thanks to a goal from Damian Gallegos in the 78th minute. The visitors fired off 17 shots in regulation, finally breaking through when Gallegos found the upper right corner of the net off an assist from Celio Pompeu.

After a scoreless first half, Rhode Island struck first off a corner kick in the 63rd minute. Cian Purcell curled a left-footed ball from the corner and found Patrick Agyemang in the back of the box. After an Agyemang touch, Rafa Villanueva finished and found the back of the net for Rhody.
