How it Happened
UAlbany struck first, jumping out to a 1-0 lead just five minutes in when Andrew Weiner sent a shot past the outstretched leg of Stefan Schmidt and inside the far post for the early advantage. Rhody equalized two minutes later though, when Isak Oystese was taken down in front of the goal and Hugo Guerra converted the ensuing penalty kick.

The Rams and Great Danes appeared to be headed into halftime knotted at 1-1, but UAlbany hustled to get a corner kick off as time ticked away. With the announcer counting down the final 10 seconds, Austin DaSilva lofted the ball to the back post with just four seconds remaining and Ricardo Rego was there to head in the go-ahead goal with just one tick left on the clock.

Guerra equalized again for the Rams in the 73rd minute, one-timing in a feed from Patrick Agyemang to make it a 2-2 game.

The teams remained locked at 2-2 through the remainder of regulation, as well as the first overtime period. DaSilva then came through with the golden goal for UAlbany in the 105th minute, firing a shot through the Rams' defense and past Schmidt for the double-overtime victory.
