How it Happened
Rhode Island won its second straight conference game, with a 2-0 shutout against George Washington Thursday afternoon.

In the first half, Rhody had a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal, including a shot by Alyssa Fleming that hit the cross bar. Rhode Island got on the board after a free kick by Kelly Fitzgerald hit a bounce over the GK Tamaki Machi's reach.

The Rams doubled their advantage after Hope Santaniello found Laila Rosenthal for a shot that blasted past Machi. A strong defensive line helped keeper Faith Hutchins keep the net empty for the second straight game.

Inside the Box Score
