How It HappenedÂ
Rhode Island was shut out for just the second time this season, playing to a 0-0 draw at VCU Wednesday night.
Â
The two teams played a relatively uneventful first half. Rhody held a 4-2 edge in shots, but VCU had the only shot on goal – a 39th minute attempt which was stopped byÂ
Max Hinke.
Â
Hinke made another save in the 61st minute, as did his counterpart John Ermini, who turned away a shot by
Patrick Gryczewski at 60:49. URI outshot VCU 6-3 from that point on, but neither side was able to truly threaten as none of those nine shots were on goal.
