Set One – Davidson 25, Rhode Island 21
Davidson led for the entirety of the first set, claiming the first two points and never letting Rhody close the gap. The Wildcats stretched their lead to as many as seven points – at 12-5 and 13-6. URI battled back from there, cutting the deficit to two twice – at 18-16 and 22-20. However Davidson used two kills from Sola Omonije and a block by Anela Davis to win the opener 25-21.
Set Two – Davidson 25, Rhode Island 14
Davidson continued to roll in the second set, holding Rhody a negative hitting percentage (-.091). The Rams had 11 errors on 33 swings and managed just eight kills – including three each by
Brynne Wright and
Gabrielle Shilling.
Set Three – Rhode Island 25, Davidson 22
The third set saw four lead changes and nine ties. With Davidson leading 18-16, Rhode Island called a time out. After the pause, a
Hannah Blaney service ace capped an 8-2 run that gave the Rams set point at 24-20. The Wildcats captured the next two points to stay alive, but a block by Shilling and Blahut later gave Rhody the 25-22 victory.
Set Four – Rhode Island 25, Davidson 16
The fourth set was tied at 2-2 and 5-5, but Davidson took over from there. The Wildcats used an 11-3 run to effectively put things out of reach for Rhode Island. A late push that featured back-to-back kills by Wright got the Rams back within five (19-14) but the 'Cats closed on a tear and outscored URI 6-2 down the stretch to win the set as well as the match.

Inside the Box Score
- Rhode Island used its 11th different starting lineup of the season against Davidson.
- Junior Samantha Blahut made her first start since Aug. 26 when she started against both Maryland and Florida Gulf Coast. She finished the match with four kills, six digs, one assist, two aces and three blocks, two of which were solos.
- Junior Brynne Wright recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 14 kills and 12 digs.
- Sophomore libero Hannah Blaney had a team-high 13 digs.
- Redshirt freshman Hope Passerello finished the night with 30 assists, eight digs, two kills and two aces.
- Grad student Gabrielle Shilling and freshman Karlee Pinell each had nine kills for the Rams. Shilling added two digs and three blocks, which Pinell recorded six digs, one ace and one solo.
- Â Senior Adel Gage had seven digs and five assists.
- Freshman Ryleigh Powers recorded four digs, two aces, one assist and one kill.
