Set One – Davidson 25, Rhode Island 15
Davidson had five team blocks in the opening set and held Rhode Island to a .161 hitting percentage. Both teams finished the set with 12 kills, but Rhody also had seven attack errors on 31 swings while Davidson was limited to just two errors on 26 attacks. The Wildcats also served up three aces, while URI had none. Davidson converted an impressive 93 percent (14-15) of its sideout opportunities allowing the Rams back-to-back points just once in the set.

Set Two – Davidson 25, Rhode Island 19
The second set featured seven lead changes and 11 ties. Neither team led by more than two points until a 4-0 run gave the Wildcats a 15-12 advantage. Rhode Island hung close, but another 4-0 push put Davidson up 23-17 and the 'Cats held on for the 25-19 win.

Set Three – Rhode Island 25, Davidson 15
It was all Davidson in the third and final set. The Wildcats opened on a 6-0 tear and claimed 12 of the first 15 points overall. Davidson took its first double-digit lead at 14-4 and never let Rhody get closer than seven. After a kill by Gabrielle Shilling made the score 22-15, Davidson followed a URI service error with back-to-back kills to finish things off.
