Set One – George Washington 25, Rhode Island 17
George Washington got off to a hot start, scoring the first five points and seven of the first nine overall. From there, the Rams used a 7-1 push – which was capped by a Mariah Paulette service ace – to take their first lead of the night at 9-8. The Colonials used another 5-0 run later in the set to go up 18-13, forcing Rhody to call its second timeout of the set. Grace Allread sank back-to-back aces for GW after the pause but a kill by Adel Gage temporarily halted the Colonials' momentum at 20-14. George Washington grabbed each of the next three points however and eased its way to the 25-17 win.

Set Two – George Washington 25, Rhode Island 11
GW dominated Rhode Island in the second set, doubling the Rams up at 10-5 and then using a 10-2 run to push it to 20-7. Rhody did not serve for consecutive points at any point in the set as George Washington converted 91 percent (11-12) of its sideout opportunities while the Rams were just 10-of-24 (41%). Only three Rams had kills in the set as Brynne Wright had four and Gabrielle Shilling and Karlee Pinell each had two.

Set Three – George Washington 25, Rhode Island 19
The Rams had a negative hitting percentage in the third and final set (-.108) with 10 errors and just six kills on 37 total attacks. Pinell had two kills while Wright, Lauren Nelson, Hope Passerello and Samantha Blahut each had one. The set was close early on, with neither team leading by more than three points until GW scored three in a row to pull ahead 15-10. From there, the Colonials stretched it to as many as eight (21-13) and coasted to the 25-19 win.
