RHODE ISLAND VS. FORDHAM - SERIES NOTES

  • The Rams lead the all-time series 40-29, including victories in three of the last four meetings.
  • Rhode Island is 20-17 all time in Rose Hill Gym, the oldest basketball facility still in use in Division I college basketball.
  • URI has won its last two visits to Fordham, including a 76-75 win on Feb. 26, 2020 when Jacob Toppin made two free throws with 6.6 seconds remaining to provide the winning margin.
  • When the teams met last season, Rhode Island won 52-42. URI held Fordham to 14 second-half points and ended the game on a 13-2 run. Jeremy Sheppard had 16 point and nine rebounds while Ishmael Leggett added 12 points and seven rebounds in his first career start.
  • Fordham is led by a pair of graduate students in forward Chuba Ohams and guard Darius Quisenberry.

  • Quisenberry is a transfer from Youngstown State, where he was a two-time All-Horizon League honoree.

  • Fordham head coach Kyle Neptune is in his first season at the helm. With nine victories this year, he already has seven more wins than Fordham had last year.
  • Both teams enter the week trying to snap losing streaks. Fordham has dropped five straight contests after winning its first two A-10 games of the season.
  • Rhode Island is looking to snap a three-game skid. Two of the losses have been two-point affairs.
