KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island redshirt junior
Emmanuelle Tahane has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. It's the first weekly honor of the season for Tahane, and just the second nod of the year for the Rams. Freshman
Emmi Rinat was named Rookie of the Week back on Nov. 15.
Tahane averaged a double-double in Rhody's 2-0 week providing 16.5 points and 13.0 rebounds. In the road win at Saint Joseph's, Tahane led the Rams with 18 points paired with 10 rebounds. She followed that up with a 15 points and 16 rebound performance in the win over Fordham. She shot 64 percent from the floor, connecting on 16-of-25.Â
The Rams are riding a 13-game win streak, the longest in the nation. With the win over Fordham, Rhody remains undefeated at home (11-0) and in A-10 play (10-0). It's just the third 20-win season in program history, and the first since 1995-96.
