CHERRY HILL, N.J. – High winds and cold weather wreaked havoc on the Cooper River, causing the Doc Hosea Invitational to be halted after just one round of competition Sunday. Each flight got in one race before the regatta was called off.

Rhode Island's best finish came in the second heat of the Second Varsity 8+ flight. The team of coxswain Alison Gorrarian, Emily Olin, Sam Gumprecht, Hailey Pardi, Kathy Zeglen, Elizabeth Greason, Morgan Cody, Tinsley Copeland and Josie Grady placed fourth in Heat 2. With a time of 7:04.71, URI finished ahead of Dartmouth and Georgetown. Rutgers won the heat in a time of 6:45.00, followed by Northeastern and Bucknell.
 
Rhode Island is off until Saturday, April 9, when it competes at Overpeck against Massachusetts, George Washington and Saint Joseph's.
