KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island will be the No. 11 seed and face No. 14 Duquesne in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championship on Wednesday, March 9. This year's tournament is being held at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The game is part of a doubleheader on the opening day of the tournament, with No. 12 La Salle playing No. 13 Saint Joseph's in the first game of the championship. Rhode Island-Duquesne is slated to tip off at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+, with Matt Martucci handling play-by-play and John Feinstein on color.
The winner of the Rhode Island-Duquesne game will advance to face No. 6 Richmond on Thursday, March 10. That contest is the last of the evening for the second round and will tip at 8:30 p.m. on USA Network. USA Network will carry the entire second round Thursday and all four quarterfinal matchups Friday. CBS Sports Network will air the semifinals Saturday at 1:00 and 3:30 pm. The championship final is set for 1:00 pm on CBS Sports as part of their annual Selection Sunday coverage.
Davidson, which won the Atlantic 10 regular season title with a 15-3 conference record, will be the No. 1 seed. The Wildcats receive one of four double byes into the quarterfinals. In addition to Davidson, second-seeded Dayton, (14-4), No. 3 VCU (14-4) and No. 4 St. Bonaventure (12-5) earned the double byes.

Seeds five through 10 earn byes into the second round and will play Thursday on USA Network. Saint Louis (12-6) is seeded fifth and will play the winner of No. 12 La Salle (5-13) and No. 13 Saint Joseph's (5-13) at 2:30 pm Thursday. The Explorers and Hawks will meet Wednesday in the first round at 1:00 pm on ESPN+. La Salle earned the 12 seed over Saint Joseph's by virtue of their head-to-head results during the regular season.

No. 6 Richmond (10-8) will open play Thursday at 8:30 pm against the winner of the late first-round game between No. 11 Rhode Island (5-12) and No. 14 Duquesne (1-16). The game between Rhody and the Dukes will tip off at 3:30 pm on Wednesday on ESPN+.

Seventh-seeded George Washington (8-9) will play 10-seeded Massachusetts (7-11) at 6:00 pm on Thursday in the second round, with the winner playing No. 2 Dayton. No. 8 Fordham (8-10) faces No. 9 George Mason (7-9) at noon on Thursday for the right to play Davidson in the quarterfinals.

The winner of the Atlantic 10 Championship will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
