How it Happened
Rhode Island loaded the bases but came up empty in the top of the first, and trailed 3-0 before getting on the board in the top of the fifth. There,
Addison Kopack homered to left field to make it a 3-1 game. Auburn responded with a five spot in the home half of the inning however, then added four more in the sixth, followed by another two in the seventh.
The Tigers' pitching staff made quick work of the Rams after Kopack's home run, retiring the next 12 batters in a row – and 15 of the final 16 overall – en route to the 14-1 win.
