How it Happened
Rhode Island scored 10 runs over the final two innings, but the late rally fell short Saturday afternoon at Davidson.
Â
A two-run shot by
Addison Kopack put the Rams on the board in the top of the first, but the Wildcats scored multiple runs in each of the first seven frames to lead 23-2.
Â
Rhody was unable to push an additional run across until
Tino Salgado delivered a solo shot in the top of the eighth.
Â
The Rams later erupted in their final trip to the plate, scoring nine runs on four hits, four walks and three hit batters. However, the early deficit was too much to overcome as Rhody fell 23-12.
