Rhode Island vs. Saint Louis
  • Rhode Island is 14-12 all time against Saint Louis.
  • The teams first met in 1982 and most recently played one another during the 2019 season.
  • That year, URI dropped two of three to the Billikens in St. Louis, but later used a 2-1 extra innings victory to eliminate SLU from the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Rhode Island (17-30, 11-7 Atlantic 10)
  • The Rams have played 10 games against teams ranked in this week's top-25. Rhody traveled to take on current #1 Tennessee (three games), #20 Auburn (four games) and played an away-home-away series versus #8 UConn. Additionally, Rhody played three games at Davidson, which is receiving votes in this week's NCBWA poll.
  • Rhode Island enters the weekend in fourth place in the Atlantic 10 standings with an 11-7 conference record.
  • The Rams have won five of their six league series – against Dayton, St. Bonaventure, UMass, George Washington and Fordham – but dropped two-of-three at Davidson.
  • Redshirt sophomore Addison Kopack leads the team with a .372 batting average, 61 hits, 31 walks, seven stolen bases, 47 RBI, 45 runs scored, a .473 on-base percentage and a .677 slugging percentage.
  • In URI's 18 Atlantic 10 games, Kopack – the reigning A-10 Player of the Week – is hitting .456, slugging .868 and has a .571 on-base percentage.
  • Three-time A-10 Rookie of the Week Eric Genther is hitting .342 in conference games and .302 overall. He has reached base safely in each of Rhody's last 27 games.
  • Freshman Anthony DePino has recorded a team-best 15 home runs, 11 of which have been solo shots and seven of which have been leadoff homers.
  • As a team, Rhode Island has hit 50 home runs so far this season – the third most in a single season in program history. URI's single season record is 54, which was set in 2009.
  • Fifth-year senior Xavier Vargas was hitting .357 through eight games played before being sidelined by an injury.
  • Similarly, senior Billy Butler homered in his first at-bat of the season – in the top of the first inning in the season-opener at William & Mary – and then became injured in the bottom of the inning. He has not played since.
  • Sophomore Trystan Levesque is a perfect 5-0 through six A-10 starts. He has allowed just 32 hits through 38.2 innings pitched against conference opponents.
  • Junior Sean Sposato, junior Zach Fernandez and freshman Bryan Kraus each have two saves on the season.
  • Redshirt senior Todd Moxey is holding opponents to a .158 batting average and has allowed just six hits through 10.2 innings out of the bullpen.
Saint Louis (25-19, 11-6 Atlantic 10)
  • Saint Louis ranks third in the A-10. The Billikens are a half game ahead of Rhody at 11-6 after a rain-shortened series last weekend at Saint Joseph's.
  • SLU has won A-10 series against Fordham (2-1), Richmond (2-1), St. Bonaventure (3-0) and St. Joe's (2-0). The Billikens dropped two of three to both Davidson and George Mason.
  • Fordham is 8-12 when playing on the road this season.
  • Matt Turino leads the team with a .331 batting average.
  • Kyle Fitzgerald is hitting .325 and leads the team in hits (50), RBI (40), runs scored (33) and extra-base hits (17).
  • Tyler Fogarty is SLU's top threat on the bases, having stolen 13 bases in 16 attempts.
  • As a team, Saint Louis is hitting .274 and owns a 5.96 ERA.
  • Logan Schmitt is 8-1 with a 3.30 ERA and a team-best 49 strikeouts through 60.0 innings.
  • Cameron Pferrer owns a 1.73 ERA and is 1-0 with eight saves. He has recorded a team-high 18 appearances, all of which have been in relief.
