Rhode Island opened the match quickly, scoring seven of the first 10 points. Kills by
Gabrielle Shilling and
Brynne Wright followed by consecutive attack errors by the Bears put Rhody up, 7-3. Following an early timeout, Brown responded with four straight points to tie the score, but URI came right back with three straight points, including kills from
Katie Butler and
Claire Wagner. From there, it was all Brown. An 11-1 run put the Bears up 18-11, and the hosts coasted from there.
Set Two – Brown 25, Rhode Island 14
The teams split the first 14 points of the set before Brown exerted its will. A 9-1 run gave the Bears an eight-point advantage that was never threatened the rest of the way. With 13 kills in 28 attacks, Brown hit .393 in the set as a team, while Rhode Island never found a rhythm. URI had a negative hitting percentage for the set (-.074), committing eight errors with just six kills.

Set Three – Brown 25, Rhode Island 13
The dominance carried over, as Brown took 10 of the first 12 points and maintained control throughout. For the second straight set, the Bears limited Rhody to a negative attack percentage (-.070) as URI had just five kills compared to eight attack errors.
