RHODE ISLAND VS. BRYANT - SERIES NOTES
- Saturday's game marks just the third meeting all-time between Rhode Island and Bryant.
- Rhody won both of the previous meetings, including a 45-21 victory at Meade Stadium last year.
- This will be the first time the teams have met at Bryant.
- Bryant won all four of its home games in 2021, and has won six of its last eight at Beirne Stadium.
- In last year's meeting, URI quarterback Kasim Hill was 12-of-18 for 248 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for a touchdown.
- The Rhode Island offensive line paved the way for the Rams to rush for 235 yards and three touchdowns last time out against Bryant. The line also did not allow a sack in the game.
DEFENSE SHUTTING DOWN AIR ATTACK
- With three interceptions in the season opener, Rhode Island's defense has 18 interceptions in 15 games since Jack Cooper was named the Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach.
- In 15 games with Cooper running the defense, the Rams have allowed just 17 passing touchdowns.
- Stony Brook had just 83 passing yards and did not throw for a touchdown in the opener.
- Over the last 15 games, Rhody has held opponents to zero or one passing touchdown 11 times.
- The opposition has passed for more than 250 yards just three times in the last 15 games.
- Rhody has held opponents to less than 200 passing yards eight times in the last 15 games.
LEE OPENS SEASON WITH CAREER BEST OUTING
- Redshirt senior Ed Lee led Rhode Island with six catches for a career-best 87 yards in the season opener at Stony Brook.
- His 32-yard touchdown catch was the fourth of Lee's career.
- Lee also had a 29-yard punt return, giving him a career-best 116 all-purpose yards.
- He has caught at least one pass in seven consecutive games, grabbing 19 passes over the stretch.
- In his first 22 games, Lee had 17 total catches.
HILL IN COMMAND IN THE POCKET
- Quarterback Kasim Hill accounted for three touchdowns in the season opener at Stony Brook, passing for two scored and adding one on the ground.
- Over his last five games, Hill has thrown for 14 touchdowns with just two interceptions.
- In his first 10 games with Rhode Island, he had eight touchdown passes and six interceptions combined.
- He has at least two touchdown passes in five consecutive games.
