How It Happened
Rhode Island picked up its first road win of the season by holding off a pesky Brown squad Friday night.
Mayé Touré scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Rams to a 67-56 victory.
Freshman
Sophia Vital had a huge fourth quarter to give the Rams a boost. Vital scored seven points, grabbed three rebounds and had a steal in the final period.
The Rams (3-1) appeared to be in control when a Vital free throw put URI ahead 60-48 with just 4:01 to go. From there, Brown (2-3) scored six unanswered points to cut the lead in half with 2:32 to go. In the final 1:39, Rhode Island was 8-for-8 at the free throw line to secure the victory.

- Mayé Touré had an outstanding offensive night, shooting 10-for-13 from the floor while scoring a game-high 22 points.
- Toure added six rebounds.
- Sophie Phillips added a season-high 14 points while hitting three 3-point shots.

- Freshman Sophia Vital had a career-high nine points, four rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes off the bench. Vital's performance was a major boost, as Teisha Hyman fouled out after just four points in 14 minutes.
