Rhody Finishes Season Receiving Votes in Coach Poll

KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Football received four votes in the Top 25 put out by the American Football Coaches Association at the end of the 2023 regular season.

Of the 12 weeks of the season, the Rams received attention from the AFCA in seven of them. URI finished its season with a 31-30 loss at Towson on Saturday, Nov. 18. Despite the setback, the game was highlighted by Ja'Den McKenzie recording his 13th rushing touchdown of the year, a program record, and Kahtero Summers becoming the eighth player in program history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards (1,027).

Rhode Island was one of six CAA Football members to receive some sort of nod from the AFCA, with Villanova (ninth), Delaware (12th), UAlbany (15th) and Richmond (25th) earning top 25 spots. William & Mary collected five votes, just one more than the Rams.
