RHODE ISLAND VS. NORTH CAROLINA A&T - SERIES NOTES
- Saturday's game will be the first meeting between Rhode Island and North Carolina A&T.
- The Aggies joined CAA Football ahead of the 2023 season, alongside Campbell.
- While the team has a new conference affiliation and a new leader, head coach Vincent Brown is no stranger to the CAA.
- Brown served as the coordinator for William & Mary's nationally-ranked defense in 2022 as the Tribe captured a share of the CAA Football title and reached the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs.
- North Carolina A&T has an impressive football history that includes 11 MEAC Championships, five appearances in the FCS Playoffs and four Celebration Bowl Titles from 2015-19.
- The 724-mile trip to Kingston will be the longest of the year for the Aggies, whose second-longest trek was 482 miles to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
- North Carolina A&T does not have any New England natives on its roster.
- Fullback Michael Benn and linebacker Bryce Enlow are closest, hailing from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Princeton, N.J., respectively.
RAMS WELL-RESTED FOLLOWING BYE WEEK
- Rhode Island will have enjoyed an extra week of recovery heading into the game against the Aggies, having had its bye the weekend of Nov. 4.
- Prior to the break, the Rams pulled off a 34-28 upset over No. 20 New Hampshire in overtime at Meade Stadium (Oct. 28).
- Running back Ja'Den McKenzie became just the fifth player in program history to record four touchdowns in a single game when he did so opposite the Wildcats.
- He dove over the top of the scrum at the line of scrimmage and flipped into the end zone to secure the victory in the extra period.
- Rhody will play in its final two games of the regular season coming out of the reprieve, first playing host to North Carolina A&T (Nov. 11) before the finale at Towson (Nov. 18).
