KINGSTON, R.I. - Over a dozen Rhode Island Football players received postseason honors from Phil Steele in a blog post that released the 2023 All American and All Conference teams.
Highlighting the awards was offensive lineman
Lorenzo Thompson, who was named a Third Team All American. Both wide receiver
Marquis Buchanan and cornerback
Syeed Gibbs collected Freshman All-American nods to round out the team's top achievements.
Rhody also had 14 All-CAA Football Team selections. Thompson and wide receiver
Kahtero Summers made the First Team, while linebacker AJ Pena landed on the Second Team. Buchanan, running back
Ja'Den McKenzie, defensive lineman
Westley Neal, Jr. and linebacker
Evan Stewart were tabbed to the Third Team. The quartet of offensive linemen
Nick Correia, long snapper
Donato Crisanti, safety
Brent Jackson and punt returner
Gabe Sloat were named to the Fourth Team. Offensive lineman
Sebastian Delasoudas, kickoff returner
Randy Jordan and wide receiver
Darius Savedge rounded out the awards with Fifth Team spots.
