How it Happened
A 15-2 run to close out the first half was the difference as Rhode Island fell to Delaware 67-56 at the Holiday Hoopfest held at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y. Saturday.

The game started off back and forth, as the first half featured seven ties and seven lead changes. Rhode Island (5-6) led 24-20 following a pair of Cam Estevez free throws with 6:41 to go in the half. From there, Delaware (8-3) went on a 15-2 run. The extended stretch helped the Blue Hens carry a 35-26 lead into the half.

Despite a better effort in the second half, the Rams were not able to cut into the deficit much in the second half. Jyare Davis scored 17 of his game-high 26 points for Delaware in the second half. He was 3-of-4 from 3-point range and came up with buckets several times when URI tried to turn momentum.
