RHODE ISLAND VS. HARVARD - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island hosts Harvard in the non-conference finale Thursday night.
  • Rhode Island faced the Crimson twice last season,  going 0-2 in season-opening and season-ending losses.
  • In the last meeting between the two teams, Harvard spoiled Rhody's WNIT run, handing the Rams a 74-63 loss at the Super 16. Rhody opened 2022-23 with a 88-74 loss in Cambridge on Nov. 7.
  • Harvard holds a 12-9 advantage in the all-time series. 
  • The last Rhody win in the series came on Nov. 23, 2021 in a 70-46 win at the Ryan Center.

RAMS WRAP UP NON-CONFERENCE SLATE

  • The Rams have gone 7-5 in the non-league portion of the schedule with one final non-conference game left.
  • Rhody picked up wins over Sacred Heart and UMass Lowell to start the season strong. Rhody then won three road contests, including a 2-0 trip out to Las Vegas. 
  • The Rams clinched the upset over nationally-ranked Princeton at the Ryan Center, and also had a 97-53 drumming over Le Moyne in front of a crowd of 6,000+. 

SOPHIE P FOR THE RECORD

  • Rhode Island junior Sophie Phillips poured in a game-high 21 points last time out in the win over Le Moyne. 
  • Phillips connected on seven 3-pointers, matching the most in a single game in program history.
  • It marked the eighth time in her career she made five 3-pointers or more in a game.
  • She's had two 20-point games this season. She had a career-high 23 points in the win over Youngstown State Nov. 24. 

DEBROISE CELEBRATING THE SEASON OF GIVING 

  • Rhode Island sophomore captain Ines Debroise handed out a season-high seven assists in the 97-53 win over Le Moyne last time out.
  • She averages a team-best 3.25 assists per game. 
  • The Paris, France native has handed out an assist in all but one game this season.
  • She's dished out four assists or more five times.
  • Debroise ranks second in the Atlantic 10 with a 2.60 assist/turnover ratio.
