RHODE ISLAND VS. LOYOLA CHICAGO - SERIES NOTES

  • Rhode Island and Loyola are playing each other for the first time.
  • Both teams are looking to snap losing streaks. Rhode Island has dropped seven straight games, while Loyola has lost three in a row and six of its last seven contests.
  • The game is a matchup of the two lowest-scoring offenses in the Atlantic 10. Loyola averages 66.8 points per game, while Rhode Island scores 66.3 points per game.
  • Rhode Island head coach Archie Miller has never coached against a Loyola Chicago team.

  • The broadcast team of Chris Lewis and B.J. Taylor will call the game for CBSSN Wednesday night.
  • The game is set for a 9:05 EST tip. However, the start could slide back up to five minutes to 9:10 p.m. EST depending on the DePaul-UConn game the network is carrying at 7 p.m. EST.
  • Stone Freeman and Silk Owens will have the call for the Varsity Network. 

THOMAS DELIVERS CAREER HIGH AT FORDHAM

  • Sophomore guard Sebastian Thomas had a career-high 16 points Saturday at Fordham.
  • All of his points came in the second half, as Thomas was limited to 12 minutes in the first half due to foul trouble. He was 0-2 from the floor with two assists, but picked up three personal fouls.
  • In the second half, he was 5-11 with two assists and two steals in 16 minutes.
  • Since returning to the starting lineup four games ago, Thomas is averaging 9.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 35 minutes per game.
  • He also is shooting 6-for-18 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range and 7-for-9 (77.8 percent) at the free throw line over that span.
  • In the first 24 games of the season, Thomas was averaging 4.9 points, 2.5 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 19.9 minutes per game.
  • He was 10-for-48 (20.8 percent) from the arc and 25-for-36 (69.4 percent) at the line.

LEGGETT CLOSING IN ON 900 CAREER POINTS

  • Sophomore Ishmael Leggett is just 13 points away from 900 for his career.
  • He has been on a tear of late, averaging 20.8 points per game over the last four contests.
  • Leggett had 21 points against VCU on Feb. 11 and followed that up with 18 against Massachusetts on Feb. 18. Next was a 30-point showing against George Washington on Feb. 22, his second 30-point game of the season. Last time out, Leggett scored 14 at Fordham.
  • Earlier this season, Leggett scored a career-high 34 points against Tulane at the Cayman Islands Classic.
  • He has 25 double-digit scoring efforts this season.
  • In his first two years combined, Leggett had 20 games with 10 or more points.
