2023 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis All-Conference Team
KINGSTON, R.I. - Three members of the Rhode Island women's tennis team earned postseason honors from the Atlantic 10. Freshman
Sophie Herrman and junior
Valentina Cvackova both earned Second Team All-Conference recognition, while senior captain
Nadia Rajan was named to the A-10 Academic All-Conference Team for the second straight season.
Herrman had an overall singles record of 15-12, all of which came in the top three singles slots. She was 4-6 at No. 1 singles, 3-2 at No. 2 and 5-1 at No. 3. Hermann also was 3-3 in non-dual match play. She and Cvackova also formed URI's top doubles team, winning a team-high 13 matches together. She advanced to third round at the ITA regional tournament in both singles and doubles. Cvackova won nine singles matches, including three at the No. 1 spot. At the ITA Regionals, she advanced two rounds in singles play.

Rajan, a team captain, had a 3.96 grade-point average while pursuing a master's degree in Kinesiology. Also a two-time all-conference selection, she won seven singles matches this year, mostly from the No. 3 slot. A Dean's List student every semester at URI, Rajan is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete (2019, 2020, 2021).
A two-time B.H. Murray Health Sciences Scholarship recipient (2020, 2021), Rajan was a 2022 Statehouse Scholar-Athlete who as a sophomore led the Rams to the first Top 100 national ranking in program history. In addition to being a member of the URI Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Rajan also is a member of URI Minority Student-Athlete Crew, the URI Pre PT Club and the New England American College of Sports Medicine.
