KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing's
Catie Castle was one of 10 athletes in the country that received an invitation to the U23 Women's Sculling Selection Camp, per an announcement made by USRowing on Tuesday evening.
Held at the Oklahoma City High Performance Center and under the direction of OKCHP Head Coach and High Performance Director Reilly Dampeer, the camp will select the women's quadruple sculls crew that will represent Team USA at the 2023 World Rowing Under 23 Championships July 19-23 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Selection camp began earlier this month and will end July 7. In total, USRowing invited sixty-seven athletes to attend its Under 23 National Team selection camps this summer. This marks the second-straight year that Castle, who will return to Kingston in the fall for her fifth year, has been invited to camp. A year ago, she was the final cut before the lineup of the quad was solidified.
