How it Happened
Brown pressured the Rhode Island defense throughout the afternoon before finally breaking through in the 81st minute to spoil a brilliant performance by URI keeper Faith Hutchins. Miya Grant Clavijo's late tally was the lone goal of the game, handing Rhode Island a 1-0 loss Sunday.

Grant-Clavijo took a pass from Brittany Raphino in the 81st minute and unloaded a shot that beat Hutchins, but defender Allison Gilbert knocked the ball off the end line. The carom went right back to Grant-Clavijo, who lined her second shot to the back of the net for her third goal of the season.

Faith Hutchins came up with three saves on quality shots by Brittany Raphino back-to-back saves in the 24th minute. Raphino got behind the Rhody defense and unloaded a high, hard shot from the top of the box that Hutchins knocked back. The rebound went to Raphino, who fired a second shot toward the lower right corner. Hutchins dove to her right and made the second stop as well.

Just 36 seconds later, Raphino again found space behind the defense at the top of the box, but Hutchins was up to the task one more time, absorbing the shot for her third save in a 48-second span.

In the 36th minute, Brown's Hayley Houston got into the box with space and drilled a shot to the left of Hutchins, who again made the save. Houston's shot off the rebound got through but went just wide of the right post. In the 40th minute, Naomi Ferguson got her head on a free kick for the Bears, but the shot went just wide.

In the 58th minute, Raphino broke through the right side of the box. Hutchins came off the line and made the diving save to once again keep the Bears off the board.
