How it Happened
Rhode Island battled rainy conditions along with visiting La Salle to a scoreless draw Saturday night. The tie was the Rams' third of the season, and first in conference play.

The Rams held La Salle to just one shot in the first 45 minutes, while the hosts made seven shots of their own. Rhody had a shot on goal in the 33rd minute and again three minutes later, but Explorer keeper Filip Sabatti was able to make the stops to keep the net empty. The teams went into the break knotted 0-0.

The Rams held the advantage in shots again in the second half of play (7-3). Rhode Island drew three straight corners late in the half, but was unable to find the back of the net. The Rams had their best chance with a shot by Inigo Etxegarai that was shot just wide from the middle of the box. Rams keeper Edu Rodriguez preserved the shutout after stopping a last-chance effort by the Explorers in the 76th minute, making the diving save to stop the low-curling shot and send the visitors home with a draw.
