How it Happened
Rhode Island outscored Holy Cross by 27 points over the final 15 minutes of the game to knock off the Crusaders 91-77 Friday night.

The Rams (2-0) trailed 62-49 with 14:58 to go, but a switch to a smaller lineup helped URI defensively. A 23-8 run over the next 10 minutes enable Rhody to pull ahead. A David Green hoop-and-harm off an assist from Sebastian Thomas gave Rhode Island its first lead of the second half 72-70, and the Rams never looked back.

Drissa Traore gave Rhode Island a massive boost off the bench as he played a career-high 23 minutes. While he was on the floor, Rhody outscored Holy Cross (0-2) by 23 points. With the smaller lineup, Rhode Island was able to impact the perimeter shooting of the Crusaders.

After scoring 44 points in the first half behind 9-of-20 shooting from the arc, Holy Cross was limited to 3-of-14 from long range in the second half and it was unable to maintain pace with the Rams.
