How it Happened
Rhode Island suffered its first loss of the season as in-state rival Brown knocked off the Rams in double overtime 84-80 Tuesday night.

On a night with a season-high 21 turnovers and 11 of its shots blocked, Rhode Island (9-1) still led 72-71 following a Tyonne Farrell free throw in the second overtime. From there, Kino Lilly, Jr. (23 points) and Landon Lewis hit back-to-back layups to give Brown (7-3) a 75-71 lead. David Green scored on a drive with 1:27 to go to get Rhody back within a point, but the Rams could not all the way back.

With 35 seconds to go, Aaron Cooley drilled a corner 3-pointer off a pass from Lilly to make it a two-possession game at 78-74. From there it became a free throw contest, and Lilly went 6-for-6 in the final 31 seconds as the Bears held off the Rams.
