How It Happened
Rhode Island was shut out for the fifth time this season as it lost to Bradley 6-0 Monday on the final day of the Cathi Maynard Invitational.
Bradley pitchers Abbott Badgly and Sydney Kennedy (5-4) held the Rams (1-15) hitless until the bottom of the fifth inning, when
Leilyn Alvarez reached on a single.
Emily Power followed with a single of her own, but Rhode Island was unable to capitalize.
It wand s Bagdly who put Bradley on top in the opening frame. After Bailey Sample was hit by a pitch with two outs, Bagdly doubled to right field and Sample came all the way around. Lauren DeRol's two-run single keyed a three-run rally for Bradley in the second, and the pitching of Kennedy and Bagdly handled the rest.
