  • Rhode Island and Saint Louis will play one another for the 33rd time in the history between the sides when they take the field on Thursday afternoon.
  • The series opener will serve as a rubber match between the two programs, who enter the weekend with a split record of 16-16 against one another.
  • Momentum has favored the Rams in recent history, who have won four of the last five contests.
  • The last series played between the teams was in Kingston during the 2022 campaign. Rhode Island picked up a 9-8 victory in 10 innings before claiming the weekend with a 19-13 win in game two.
  • The Billikens prevented the sweep with a 12-6 win in the finale.
  • This will be Rhody's first time making the trip to Saint Louis since the 2019 season.

Anderson Makes History, Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

  • Sophomore Michael Anderson had a day for the ages during the Rams' recent win over Stonehill, driving in a program-record 12 runs to lead his team to victory.
  • The 12 runs batted in were the most by any Division I player in the country this season, topping the 10-RBI game by Creighton's Ben North.
  • The previous record for URI was nine RBI in a game by Calvin McCall against Holy Cross on April 14, 2022.
  • Anderson's five hits tied the Rhode Island single-game record. It is the 19th time this has happened, with Addison Kopack being the most recent against St. Bonaventure on April 8, 2022.
  • All five of his hits were for extra bases, as he had two home runs, two doubles and one triple. He also scored three runs.
  • Anderson was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for his efforts on Tuesday afternoon. He was a three-time Rookie of the Week honoree a season ago.

On Deck: League Play

  • Atlantic 10 play begins this weekend with a total of 18 conference games on the docket.
  • Rhode Island has had a winning record in each of its last four seasons of league play, finishing 13-11 a year ago.
  • The Rams' best effort during that span was a 14-6 mark during the 2021 regular season.
  • Along with Saint Louis, Rhody will make trips to George Washington, Davidson and Dayton.
  • Massachusetts, Saint Joseph's, Fordham and Richmond will play in Kingston.

Baseball Announces Fundraising Partnership with Hasbro Children's Hospital

  • Rhody Baseball has partnered with Hasbro Children's Hospital, located 45 minutes away in Providence, to raise money for the hospital during the 2024 season.
  • Throughout the year, every Rhody strikeout, win, hit, home run and stolen base will contribute directly to the children's hospital.
  • The fundraiser consists of five different pledge levels, with dollar amounts attached to each of the aforementioned statistical categories.
  • Juniors Eric Genther and Anthony DePino spearheaded the effort, working with sport administrator Jeff Johnson and members of the Hasbro Children's Hospital administration to organize the fundraiser.
  • Updates concerning the Rams' progress on the field and in their fundraising efforts will be provided on the team's social media channels throughout the year.
