Rhody Making Day Trip to Bryant

Midweek Schedule - Rhode Island (11-18) at Bryant (22-11)
Tuesday, April 16 - 3 p.m. | Live Stats | Watch

Rhode Island vs. Bryant - Series Notes

  • Tuesday's game will be the 27th in the history between Rhode Island and Bryant, which dates back to 2009.
  • Since then, the Bulldogs have earned a 15-10-1 advantage over their in-state foes in the Rams.
  • Recent history has favored Bryant, as the team has won four of the last five meetings.
  • Rhody's lone victory in that span was an 11-8 triumph at home in Kingston in 2022.
  • Former players Addison Kopack and Jack Cucinotta drove in three runs in the seventh to lift URI to the win.
  • Rhode Island will head to Smithfield looking to snap its three-game losing streak opposite the Bulldogs.
  • The game is one of two that the teams will play this season, as Bryant is slated to make the return trip to Kingston on Tuesday, April 23.

The Midweek

  • Rhode Island's midweek portion of its schedule has been shaky in 2024, as the contests against Sacred Heart (March 5), UMass Lowell (March 13) and Boston College (April 3) were cancelled over weather concerns.
  • The Rams have a 4-1 record in the games they've been able to play so far having defeated UConn (4-1; March 19), Stonehill (19-15; March 20), Brown (5-2; April 9) and Quinnipiac (14-13; April 10).
  • Rhody's lone loss was a 4-0 shutout suffered on the Bobcats' home field (March 26).
  • A year ago, the team was 3-5 in midweek games with wins over Quinnipiac, Brown and Holy Cross.
  • URI has three midweek games remaining on its schedule. In addition to the upcoming games against Bryant,  the team will play at Stonehill on Wednesday, April 24.

Baseball Announces Fundraising Partnership with Hasbro Children's Hospital

  • Rhody Baseball has partnered with Hasbro Children's Hospital, located 45 minutes away in Providence, to raise money for the hospital during the 2024 season.
  • Throughout the year, every Rhody strikeout, win, hit, home run and stolen base will contribute directly to the children's hospital.
  • The fundraiser consists of five different pledge levels, with dollar amounts attached to each of the aforementioned statistical categories.
  • Juniors Eric Genther and Anthony DePino spearheaded the effort, working with sport administrator Jeff Johnson and members of the Hasbro Children's Hospital administration to organize the fundraiser.
  • Updates concerning the Rams' progress on the field and in their fundraising efforts will be provided on the team's social media channels throughout the year.
  • Fans interested in contributing to this great cause through a pledge or a one-time gift can do so HERE.
