Rhode Island vs. Brown - Series Notes
  • Tuesday's meeting between the Rams and the Bears will be the 168th in the history between the programs, which dates back to 1908.
  • Brown narrowly holds the all-time advantage at 86-79-2, though Rhode Island has won eight of the last 10 meetings.
  • URI and its Providence-based foes have split the last two games. The Bears picked up a 23-5 victory in 2022, which the Rams avenged with a 12-5 win last season.
  • A six-run burst in the top of the eighth allowed Rhody to pick up the midweek victory, capped off by a three-run homer off the bat of former player Billy Butler.
  • B. Butler's younger brother, Rob Butler, who still plays for the Rams also went yard in the contest.
Rhode Island vs. Quinnipiac - Series Notes
  • The Rams and the Bobcats will play each other for the 26th time in the shared history between the programs when they take the field on Wednesday afternoon.
  • Rhode Island has earned a 19-6 advantage over Quinnipiac since the teams' first meeting in 1999 and enters the contest looking to avenge a 4-0 shutout suffered in Hamden on March 26.
  • A year ago, Rhody clipped Quinnipiac 8-7 to secure head coach Raphael Cerrato's 200th career victory.
  • URI scored eight runs over the first five innings and then held on to record what was its fourth-straight victory.

The Midweek

  • Rhode Island's midweek portion of its schedule has been off to a slow start in 2024, as the contests against Sacred Heart (March 5), UMass Lowell (March 13) and Boston College (April 3) were cancelled over weather concerns.
  • The Rams have a 2-1 record in the games they've been able to play so far having defeated both UConn (4-1; March 19) and Stonehill (19-15; March 20).
  • Rhody's lone loss was a 4-0 shutout suffered at Quinnipiac (March 26), who the Rams face this Wednesday.
  • A year ago, the team was 3-5 in midweek games with wins over Quinnipiac, Brown and Holy Cross.

Baseball Announces Fundraising Partnership with Hasbro Children's Hospital

  • Rhody Baseball has partnered with Hasbro Children's Hospital, located 45 minutes away in Providence, to raise money for the hospital during the 2024 season.
  • Throughout the year, every Rhody strikeout, win, hit, home run and stolen base will contribute directly to the children's hospital.
  • The fundraiser consists of five different pledge levels, with dollar amounts attached to each of the aforementioned statistical categories.
  • Juniors Eric Genther and Anthony DePino spearheaded the effort, working with sport administrator Jeff Johnson and members of the Hasbro Children's Hospital administration to organize the fundraiser.
  • Updates concerning the Rams' progress on the field and in their fundraising efforts will be provided on the team's social media channels throughout the year.
  • Fans interested in contributing to this great cause through a pledge or a one-time gift can do so HERE.
