KINGSTON, R.I. - Game time for Rhode Island Football's contest at Minnesota on Saturday, Sept. 7 will be at 12 p.m., as announced on Thursday afternoon.
The action between the team and its FCS foe will air on Peacock. Rhody will be facing off against the Golden Gophers for the first time in program history. URI has only played one other current member of the Big 10, having made the trip to Rutgers in 1945.
The Rams nearly knocked off FBS opponent Georgia State a season ago, falling 42-35 in Atlanta. Rhode Island rallied from an early 14-point deficit to take a seven-point lead in the third quarter but was unable to hold on. The team's last win over an FBS opponent was a 35-22 victory at Massachusetts in 2021.
Rhody's 2024 slate will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. when the team plays host to Holy Cross. Tickets are currently on sale and available
