How it Happened
A torrid start helped Rhode Island build a 20-point lead less than 10 minutes into the game as the Rams beat the University of Calgary 93-66 Monday night at the Baha Mar Summer League.

The Rams scored the first five points of the game and never trailed. Rhody started the game making nine of its first 10 field goal attempts. By the time David Fuchs hit a layup with 10:19 remaining in the half, URI was already in front by 20 points at 32-12.

Rhody's size helped the Rams stay in control from start to finish. The frontcourt trio of Javonte Brown, Drissa Traore and David Fuchs combined for 42 points and 26 rebounds, helping URI to a 60-20 advantage for points in the paint.

Calgary – which competes in Canada West and went 20-12 last season – was led by Noah Wharton's 20 points. The guard was 5-for-10 from the arc and also had five assists.
