How it Happened
Brandon Bermingham scored his second goal of the season, but Rhode Island had to settled for its second draw of the season in a 1-1 tie at Central Connecticut State Saturday night.

In the 52nd minute, Bermingham sent a long pass through the middle to set up Íñigo Etxegarai with a breakaway. Etxegarai was taken down by the CCSU keeper Michel Pinoncely in the box, leading to a penalty kick. Bermingham stepped up and calmy deposited the shot into the lower right corner for the 1-0 lead.

The lead stood until the 74 th minute when Joey Tata scored off an assist from Ethan Agyare-Danso. Despite getting six shots over the final 12 minutes, the Rams were unable to reclaim the lead.

  • Brandon Bermingham's goal was his second of the season. He is now tied with Patrick Gryczewski and Joan Sanchis for the team lead. 
  • His penalty kick was URI's first of 2024.
  • Nate DiLoreto made four saves between the pipes, while the Blue Devils' two keepers combined for seven.
