How it Happened
Sebastian Thomas' season of spectacular plays continued as he banked a running 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds on the clock to lift Rhode Island to a 92-90 win over Davidson Saturday afternoon.
The Rams (14-4, 3-3 Atlantic 10) found themselves down 90-89 with five seconds to go after Bailey Reed scored on an offensive put-back. Rhode Island did not call timeout, electing to trust Thomas on the run. He dribbled to the top of the key and banked the shot from straight away.
Davidson (12-6, 2-3 A-10) threw an initial inbounds pass the length of the floor, but
David Fuchs was able to knock the pass away. After a review, 0.3 seconds were put on the clock. URI's defense forced a pressure lob pass into the paint, and Davidson was unable to get a shot off, giving Rhode Island the victory.
