How it Happened
Rhode Island got its first Atlantic 10 win of the season by shutting out St. Bonaventure 2-0 Saturday afternoon, grabbing three key points in the league standings.

The Rams recorded their first shutout in 17 matches by allowing just two shots on goal in a superb defensive effort. The opportunities were limited in the first half for both sides. URI's Lou Forster had the best chance in the opening 45 minutes. Foster lined a hard shot from the edge of the box that Felix Schone had to dive to deflect. Schone just got a piece of the shot to his right, deflecting the ball off the right post as the Rams were inches away from a tally.

The Bonnies had back-to-back shots in the 56th minute by Callum Shillington. With an open net in front of him, Shillington's low shot was blocked by URI's Tiago Barriguinha, the ball went back to Shillington, whose follow up shot lined off the crossbar for a near miss.

Moments later, Rhode Island broke the scoreless tie. Kyler Vojvodic sent a cross to a cutting Everson Goglia. Moving from his right to left, Goglia was able to slip a low shot past Schone's right for the 1-0 lead.

Theo Harris iced the win in the final minute. Pressuring the St. Bonaventure box, Harris capitalized on a miscommunication by the Bonnies defense. He slipped two defenders and created a one-on-one situation, beating Schone with a low shot with just 29 seconds remaining.
